Vet Jobs America helps veterans get jobs.
We are unique in that we offer personal service: we personally contact and support each veteran. For employers, we offer free help wanted advertising, and assistance in learning about federal tax discounts available for hiring a qualified veteran.
Unlike other help wanted sites that have job boards that you have to return to frequently in order to view jobs, we have a power email system to directly send new jobs to veterans in our system that reside close to the job opening. All our veterans get an email about a new job within an hour of it being posted - and we offer personalized assistance with resumes and cover letters.
Vet Jobs America seeks not only to benefit veterans with job finding assistance, but we network with other veteran nonprofits and assistance programs so that when our veterans have other needs, we provide an introduction to local resources geared to help them. We have a database of assistance programs and internet links built in categories/by need/by state ready to help, and we are constantly expanding our resource list.
Our strategic goals of expansion rely on generous gifts by donors to generate manpower assignments focused on becoming more complete and cover more geographical areas.
1. Expand our reach and message to more employers.
2. Recruit, train, and manage our volunteer staff. We have a custom database system which provides lists, contact history, volunteer assignment/management groups, and result based assessment.
3. Publicize our service to more veterans via google ads, direct mail, and networking We purchase printed assistance such as business cards and rack cards for placement at veteran centers.
Vet Jobs America was awarded a nonprofit gift by Google, of up to $10,000 per month in free google advertising. Google advertising can be very complex to setup and maintain, as well as to track results. We advertise on two fronts: finding veterans who are seeking a career, and finding employers with jobs to advertise. We are seeking donations for the cost of our IT staff that handles this amazing gift.
In the last year of operations, in light of the pandemic, we expanded our computer system network across the amazon cloud. Instead of a physical network computer, we moved to centralize on "the cloud" so that our entire network is available to any member of our organization from their home. It is very rare for a small or medium sized nonprofit to have this computing power, and it is due to the key IT staff and volunteers at Vet Jobs America that crafted a custom-made database system just for us.
